JANUARY - Aerate your lawn regularly
and ensure good drainage. Prepare any feeds ready for spring.
FEBRUARY - Continue to aerate. Scarify when the Lawn is dry.
MARCH - Re-seed the patchy areas and trim the edges where damaged. Continue
to Aerate the Lawn and apply a fertilizer. When the grass starts to grow and reaches 2" - 3"(5 - 7cm) you can start to cut
it. Don't cut too short at this stage.
APRIL - Mow about once a week. Don't cut it shorter than 1 1/2" (4cm).
If you haven't fed it yet, this is a good time to apply a slow release fertiliser. Cntinue to Aerate. You will nortice differences
in levels. Build up the smaller ones with soila dn rake in.
MAY - Continue regular mowing, reducing the height of cut slightly. Apply
Sulphate of Ammonia.
JUNE - Continue regular mowing. If you have weed problems, sparay with
a chemical or organic weedkiller.
JULY - Continue regular mowing. If the sun is hot then increase
the height of cut, and consider leaving a thin layer of clippings on the ground as a heat shield.
AUGUST - Spike the ground and leave longer in hot weather.
If excessive, consider watering the Lawn. Never water in high sun as this burns the Turf. Instead water at the beginning and
end of the day.
SEPTEMBER - Aerate and mow regularly. Apply Sharp's sand
and follow with by Scarifiying. This will get rid of the moss. Apply fertiliser.
OCTOBER - Rake to renove fallen leaves. Leave to grow slightly
longer. If needed scarify again.
NOVEMBER - Make final cut. Rake to remove fallen leaves.
DECEMBER - Take a rest!
